Burro Banton - Praise up Jah Jah (Stereo One 7") Big sound system tune, now available on repress. Christine Miller - Run to the rock (Backyard movements 7") Great vocal on Disciples crisp update of the drum song rhythm. Also a next cut by Anthony Que. John Giscombe - Children of Israel (Kingston Connexion 7") Hard to find roots, now on repress from the great Kingston Connexion label outa France. Crucially crucial!! Also a great cut by Abdulkareem called Peace in the city. Johnny Osbourne - Crisis (Reggae Vibes 7") Very slow but soooooooo gooooood. Wicked tune yard style. Came alongside several cuts, but I stuck with this and the Al Campbell one called Turn to Jah. Louie Culture - Rootsman (Jah Love 7") One of several cuts on the Soul Jah rhythm. The absolute standout track for me is this one by Louie Culture. French production mixed in the UK. CRUCIAL! Ken Boothe - Show me that love (Education 10") One of reggaes great voices singing heartfelt lyrics over a rootsy rhythm. Cant go wrong. Ghetto Priest - Children Rise (Dubateers 10") Wicked 10" from UK based Dubateers. Also a great tune by new(at least to me) singer Mango Seed. Conscious Sounds style. Jah Mikes - Righteousness/Bless me (Operation 12") Both tunes crucial. Mixed and produced by Supa T and Bunnington Judah inna UK stylee. Go and buy. Little Devon - Joyride girl (Everything Natural 7") As the title indicates - lyrics with love sentiments. Rootsy rhythm with Little Devons irresistable singing style on top. Few singesrs can make it sound rough with these lyrics. Ken Boothe - Christopher Columbus (Fox 7") There was this guy from Spain, Christopher Columbus was his name..... Absolutely essential tune. Available on repress. Get it while you can. Pablo Moses - Ready, aim, fire (House of moses 7") Nice 80´s tune from Pablo Moses. Val Bennett - The russians are coming (Striker Lee 7") THE reggae cut of Take Five. Natty King - Show love (A lustre Kings 7") Nice yard roots á 2006. B/w a Marlon Stewart cut on the same rhythm with some lyrics and style adapted from Jr Reids 'You haffe fit'. More cuts by Abijah, Prezident Brown and others. Luciano - Heavy load to carry (Royal Inity 7") Good Luci tune. Would be interesting with a Luciano 7" discography... would make quite a list by now! Mikey Melody - King HiFi (Denni Star 7") 80´s/90´s style rootsy dancehall.... soundboy lyrics. One to rock the dance. Sugar Minott - Children of Africa (Roots pool 7") Slow and moody roots. Early 80´s style. Little John - Have got work to do (Black Roots 7") Wicked tune on the rhythm used for Tenor Saw - 'Come me just a come' and Clarence Aird - 'Gunman'. Rubadub as heavy as it gets. Don Drummond - A way from it all (Randys 7") Thats my kind of Ska. Now available on repress. Ganja Tree - Medicine man (i-grow 10" 7") Nice piece of french roots. Forward i-grow crew!
